Consulting and Programing

For more than a decade, Laila has combined her writing and social services careers to implement creative and engaging community programming that nurtures self-expression and communication.  Programming and classes are trauma-informed and tailored specifically for her targeted audience, be they individuals, groups, or organizations.  In addition to working with the general population, Laila has implemented programming and taught creative writing classes specifically for veterans, older adults, refugee populations, and homeless youth.  Programming can take place most anywhere, in an in-patient or outpatient medical setting, a classroom, meeting room, office, or outdoors.

Laila is a strong believer in a collaborative approach when working with patients/participants/students/groups.  Below are organizations with whom she has created programming, either on her own or with visual artist Ami Dalal:
